Interpretar e transferir: tarefas impossíveis, transportes necessários

Abstract

We open the paper addressing its reader to Sigmund Freud’s Ended and Endless Analysis (Die endliche und die unendliche Analyse, 1937), where the author presents his clinical practice, psychoanalyzing, together with two other impossible tasks, governing and educating, as something impossible, since they only reach unsatisfactory success. To those so called impossible professions or tasks, we would like to add the translation. In order to develop our discussion we count on two words that point in a privileged way to ambiguity and to equivoque: übertragen, in German and interpretar in Portuguese. Nevertheless, the impossible of the task, does not justify the pure and simple renounce, so that we keep in mind here the ambiguity of Benjamin’s Aufgabe.
